Every furnace system has some type of filter to trap debris. Fiberglass filters, the most common, are not designed for air cleaning. Pleated media filters are a better choice than fiberglass, trapping about 20% of the particles passing through them. Change pleated media filters at least 4 times a year to avoid static pressure increase caused by clogging.
